When the NatWest Island Games commence on 25 June next year, it will be eighteen years since the Isle of Wight last had the honour of hosting the Games.
Over that period of time, there have been immense changes in the number of Islands competing, the number of participating athletes and officials, in media interest, and in standards of performance and expectations.
With around 3000 athletes from 25 member islands competing in 14 sports during the course of one week, the Isle of Wight NatWest Island Games 2011 is anticipated to be the largest games to date. It will certainly be the largest international multi-sport event ever held on the Island.
Our Games provides a wonderful opportunity for people and businesses associated with the Island and visitors to be part of this exciting international event. Whether through volunteering, sponsoring, competing or supporting – I invite you all to get involved and make it your event.
