Kathy Volunteers after Recovery
After she was injured falling off rocks in the Lake District, Kathy Nightingale found it hard to walk, let alone jog. But soon after she started the Return to Sport Athletics course, she found her confidence returning.
After starting with gentle walking around the track, Kathy was soon jogging once more and regaining her fitness.
Inspired by the support she received at the Isle of Wight Athletics Club and the achievements of others she decided to set herself the goal of completing the Great South Run. Six months later Kathy completed the run in a time of 2h 21mins.
Kathy not only enjoyed the Return to Sport course, but has become fitter, has met new friends, and continues to go to the Athletics Club where she now helps as a volunteer.
