The NatWest Island Games 2011 Water Feature now in Ryde
| The water feature from the NatWest Island Games 2011 has now found a final resting place in the recently refurbished Victoria Arcade in Ryde.
On Thursday 1st December the sculpted piece, designed and crafted by environmental artist Paul Sivell, was unveiled by Councillor David Knowles, The Mayor of Ryde Town. The 2011 Organising Committee and members of the Town Council were present.
The water feature can now be enjoyed by local people and visitors, and will serve as a reminder of a wonderful week when islanders from all over the world visited Ryde.

Thank you to the medal bearers for a job well done!
There have been very many volunteers involved in the NatWest Island Games 2011, and all have played an important part in what we hope has been an enjoyable week. Without them the Games would not have happened.
If you were at any of the medal ceremonies, you may have noticed the presence of some other athletes in their club attire, whose sport is not included in the NatWest Island Games. The Isle of Wight Ice Dance and Figure Skating Club (IWIDFSC) very kindly offered their help and support as Medal Bearers and Victory Ceremony Co-ordinators.

The Wight Way to Win - Mens Football Final – Guernsey vs Isle of Wight
by Sarah Moody
Due to the irregularly large crowd for the Newport FC ground, officials postponed the kick off 15 minutes to allow all fans to get into the ground. This would be the Isle of Wight’s first chance to win this category since 1995.
A very unreliable rumour wandering around the ground – Paul Gascoigne would be joining the fray. A local reporter soon informed us that this was not true and the only Gascoigne she knew attending was a table tennis player. At 15.17, the match begins, 17 minutes late.
